Consecrated to Good Purpose
When Guttenberg was working in his chamber in St. Abersgot Monastery, he heard a voice warning him that his invention would be the great engine of evil whereby bad men would broadcast the seeds of sin and crime, and so, posterity would curse the man who invented the printing press. He took a hammer, and was actually breaking the type and matrices in pieces when he heard another voice bidding him desist, and declaring that God would use it still more mightily to the spread of His saving truth, and so for the eternal blessing of mankind. So our work is not to destroy the instruments that we use in the service of sin, but make them now the servants of righteousness. Grace can turn a curse into blessing, a fount of bitterness into a fount of life eternal.
