This story moves me to tears every time

Hi RICHARD,   Have you ever watched the Paralympic Games?    While it never quite gets the public attention of the Olympics, every four years I love to see the stories of courageous athletes who've overcome difficult health challenges and disabilities to become the best in their sport.    These brave women and men show the world that disabilities, no matter how severe, cannot nullify the power and dignity of the human spirit.    Unfortunately, while our society celebrates these athletes on the field, it also kills tens of thousands of babies each year simply because they're "different."    In the last forty years, millions of babies diagnosed with genetic disabilities have been aborted worldwide simply because they didn't measure up to an arbitrary standard of what a "healthy and happy" baby looks like.    We documented the moving story of Michael, an energetic, happy, and bright-eyed little boy born with an extremely rare genetic disorder.    What makes Michael's story unique isn't just the challenges he faces but the fact that his parents embraced his life. Children like Michael often don't even get the chance to experience life outside the womb because of prenatal genetic testing. As soon as parents find out that their baby might be born "different," doctors often pressure them to kill their child to spare him or her the difficulties of a disability.    Michael's parents know that their son deserves life, no matter the diagnosis doctors gave.    Suffering or difficulty never outweighs the inherent dignity of each precious, unrepeatable human life.
