Legalism, License & the Tightrope of Bible Application
Legalism, License & the Tightrope of Bible Application
By Peter Krol
So you want to apply the Bible to your life, do you? That's wonderful news, since the Lord Jesus (Matt 7:21-27) and his apostles (Jas 1:22-25) want you and me not only to hear the word but also to do it. But what should that doing look like?

Book Review: 'Ordinary Splendor' by Lydia Jaeger

By Jason Stone

Navigating life at the crossroads of science, faith, and philosophy is challenging. Lydia Jaeger, a seasoned navigator in these realms, has gifted us with her work, Ordinary Splendor: Living in God's Creation. I thoroughly enjoyed my recent interview...

Holiness: A Short Guide to a Complicated Doctrine

By Michael F. Bird

Among the divine attributes, none is so mysterious and sublime as that of divine holiness. In systematic theology, the divine attributes-aspects of God's character and being-are normally divided into two categories: the incommunicable and the communicable....

The God Who Created Dogs & the World's Oldest Advertisement

By Mary Jahnke

I was born with a Bible in my hand (not literally), in church before I was even born (literally). I can't remember my first Bible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those soft, cute little fabric storybook Bibles with crunchy things on the...

Creation Care: Conserving a Groaning Creation

What Is the Spiritual Body in 1 Corinthians 15?

Firmament or Expanse? Two Ways to Interpret Genesis 1:6

Firmament or Expanse? Two Ways to Interpret Genesis 1:6

By James-Michael Smith

As a kid growing up in Georgia, my school used to take field trips every year to the Savannah Science Museum. I loved it! We'd run through a two-story replica of the human heart, peer into terrariums of exotic snakes, and lift massive weights using nothing...

JESUS IS CREATOR OF EVERYTHING

JESUS IS CREATOR OF EVERYTHING

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3 Jesus worked with God the Father and the Holy Spirit to create everything there is. Honeybees and elephants, wildflowers and clouds, rainbows and robins, and you and I all exist because of Jesus! Jesus must be God to make all these amazing things! Grow Your Faith Sometimes we struggle to believe Jesus really knows us and cares about the things that concern us. But the One who cares for the smallest cell and the largest galaxy without breaking a sweat will certainly pay attention to us—the only creatures made in the image of God.

Grow Your Child’s Faith We can create things in our imaginations, but we have to use materials that already exist, like paper, crayons, a computer, or paint, to make things. Not Jesus! Everything that exists is here because Jesus made it. Even more amazing: Jesus created it all from nothing. Dear Jesus, You’ve made so many amazing things. Please make me more creative like You. Amen.
