The Oil of His Presence

What burdens are weighing on your shoulders today? The Lord longs to lift everyone. The only thing he wants you to be overwhelmed with is the weight of his glory. Bondages of fear, sin, and doubt melt in his all-consuming presence.

Regardless of what you're facing today, despite trials, disappointments, and failures, his nearness is like a warm refreshing wind, gently pushing your mind in the right direction. Most of the anxiety we experience is the result of wrong thinking. When we're mentally rehearsing what's wrong, it pulls us like a magnet, further into discouragement. The enemy wants to strangle us—to wrap his hand around our necks and force us to look at everything that's wrong. But we are overcomers! Let's release our cares to the Lord and lift up our worship. Soon, the anointing will flow like oil and cause the enemy to lose his grip!

Father, come and smear me with the oil of your presence. Let every burden slide easily from my shoulders as I turn my heart to you. Help me resist the temptation to doubt or be drawn into discouragement. You are the joy set before me each day!
