In Christ, we have been forgiven of every wrong that we committed. That does not remove the natural consequences we may still have to deal with in our lives, but there is grace for that. Psalm 103:12 says, "Farther than from a sunrise to a sunset—that's how far you've removed our guilt from us." In the eyes of the Father, we are completely new in Christ. He holds nothing against us.
We have been embedded with Christ's mercy through the cross and his resurrection life. What God does not hold against us, may we never hold against ourselves. We get to choose today, and every day from here on out, how we will live and whom we will serve. May we live in the freedom of being a new creation in Christ, and may we proclaim his restorative and redemptive power to all who will listen.
Savior, thank you for canceling my debt and for making me new in your resurrection power. Your Word has the final say over my life, and my identity is firmly planted in your view of me. I will stand tall in this liberty.
