Dear Friend, "Do not be deceived." This was the direct admonition given by the Apostle Paul to the early Christians in Galatians 6:7-8. "Do not be deceived." Four simple words—but easier said than done! In this letter, the first of a three-part Teaching Legacy series, The Battle of the Ages, Derek Prince explains why we must take these words seriously. The greatest danger we face at the end of the age is not global conflict, persecution, or financial collapse. Rather, it is The Danger of Deception. You and I might tend to think we're not at risk. After all, we are "mature in the faith," right? But Derek warns that this kind of thinking puts us in even greater danger: Anyone who denies his or her vulnerability to deception is already deceived, for Jesus has foretold it and He does not err. Our hearts are incapable of discerning truth on their own. Jeremiah 17:9 attests: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" In Hebrew, the word deceitful is active rather than passive. The heart is not deceived; rather, the heart is a deceiver, leading us astray. We don't need to fear what's ahead. But we do need to be aware of the reality presented by Derek in this quote. In that regard, we'd like to offer you—free upon request—an additional and timely teaching, "Satan's Program for the Close of the Age." In that message, Derek brilliantly maps out the enemy's strategy so we can know how to counteract it. Offering this resource to you is our way of thanking you for standing with us in these tumultuous times. Our three-part series, The Battle of the Ages, is a call for us to prepare. The intensity of our warfare is increasing—but so is the prospect of our victory in Him! May the Lord grant us the wisdom to clearly see and overcome The Danger of Deception. It's our "thank you" gift for your faithful prayers and support. |
