Dear blog reader
I have news I trust will encourage you.
You see, in the midst of our secular culture, Jesus Christ is at work in an incredible way. And there's no better example of what God is doing than Dr. Eric Mason. Eric graduated from DTS in 2000, and today he is founder and senior pastor of multi-ethnic Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia.
But when I step back and think about what God has already done—and is going to do—through Eric, I'm once again astounded. Eric says he came here with an intense calling: "I really wanted to be an educated minister of the gospel." What drew him to DTS like a spiritual magnet after looking at a lot of seminaries?
"I looked in the course catalog, and I was just rocked! They were taking you through the entire Bible, the language classes, the theology classes, church history, historical theology—I was blown away."
I could go on for pages. But here's the encouraging reason I wanted to tell you about Eric:
When you give to Dallas Theological Seminary, you're funding the education of an entire generation of servant-leaders like Eric Mason. Let that sink in. Think of the impact you can have on eternity—and our country right now.
Dr. Mason is doing the work of healing cultural divisions with the truth and love of God's Word. He has a passion to engage communities with the gospel. Epiphany Fellowship Church where he serves has started 22 churches in the U.S. and Africa. He is the founder and president of Thriving, an urban resource organization committed to developing leaders for ministry in the urban context, and is the author of three books: Manhood Restored, Beat God to the Punch, and Unleashed. In Manhood Restored, a book on biblical manhood, he writes: "Without the Gospel, I am only projecting behavioral modification. Changes of the heart must trump mere change of behavior."
Where will we get the resources to train more leaders? By God's grace, you are the key. Will you help us fund the education of the next generation of servant leaders?
